How do I use the keyword search?
The way that the keyword search works is that you type in words or phrases
that you think maybe related to what you are interested in finding. You have
three options...
- "exact" search: searches items for the exact phrase you type
in (looks for that specific phrase)
- "any" search: searches items for any of the words you type in
- "all" search: searches items for all the words you type in (words
aren't in item in any specific order)
How do I search items by category?
There is a list of categories given to you. All you need to do is to click
the one for which you want to see items for. Also, you can look up items for
a main category as well as a subcategory. For example, if you wanted all the
items associated with "labware", you click "labware" and
all the labware items will be displayed. If you wanted all the items for "concrete",
then you click "concrete" and all the items for all the concrete subcategories
will be displayed.
What if my search produces no results?
It helps to keep searches simple, that way you get a better chance of results,
but you also might get more than you need. If you ever have a search that produces
no results, try and simplify your search. If you have phrases with a lot of
words, try and switch from "exact" or "all" to "any".
If you get no results with the category search, that just means that there are
no items in that category.
I have results, now what?
Now that you have results, you should be able to click on an item, and find
about more about that item.
